As most of us discover car insurance companies become very strict on their claims, when you file.
One Company stands out above the rest, Progessive! As we are all drawn in by the comedic antics of Flo and her group on tv, it’s sadly not so funny when you file a claim with Progressive. The Company has a history of denying a large number of claims for just about any reason they see fit. They also make it so most of their customers simply give up trying to file a claim.

Some past examples that we have been given by Progessive customers are there:
A simple windshield coverage was denied after the customer refused to give the claims adjuster copies of his bank statements and cell phone call logs, which had nothing to do with the claim. The adjuster also then instructed that at the end of that customers policy date to not renew the policy for the same reason.
A customer filed a claim on damage that was done to her vehicle after a group of teenagers stole her vehicle and was found by Law Enforcement several days later with the interior of the vehicle completely destroyed. That claims adjuster denied the claims by merely stating that the damage looked as if it were prior to the vehicle being stolen even though photos show the vehicle in good condition.
These denials go on and on with customers from Progressive. Many of the individuals contacted found other insurance. Progessive is one of the lowest priced insurance companies to date, which attracts their customer base. Until they have to file a claim.
But many insurance companies today base their premiums on factors that truly have nothing to do with insurance, such as an individual’s credit score and marital status. Being in a divorce can easily cause your premium to rise with certain companies.
Driving records and tickets play very little into it.
One should always inquire about more details prior to committing to an insurance company and ask customers for their honest opinions. One can always Google reviews outside of customer websites to get a more balanced idea. The old adage easily applies here, “Customer be ware!”
