MYRTLE BEACH JUVENILE CURFEW ORDINANCE

As a reminder, the City’s adjusted juvenile curfew ordinance has passed its second reading and is in effect. The attached map highlights in blue the designated areas in which the ordinance applies. Per the ordinance, the following restrictions apply:

1. Individuals aged 17 and under may not remain in the designated zones or city-owned property from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM, unless a parent or guardian is present. This includes the beach, beach accesses, parks, and common areas of hotels, apartment buildings, businesses, and shopping centers.

2. The designated zone includes much of Ocean Boulevard and downtown Myrtle Beach, specifically from the Atlantic Ocean to Kings Highway between 13th Avenue South and 21st Avenue North. Additionally, the designated zone includes a small extension west of Kings Highway to Broadway Street between 7th Avenue North and 9th Avenue North.

3. Outside of the designated zone and City-owned property, the standard juvenile curfew of 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM remains in effect.

4. Exemptions apply for work, emergencies, travel, parent/guardian accompaniment, and other limited exceptions.
