Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on July 27, 2025.
On July 27, 2025, at around 5:30 PM, deputies responded to a shots fired call at the 1600 block of Devonwood Drive. While at this location, dispatch provided information about buildings struck by gunfire at the 1600 block of Longcreek Dr and the 1600 block of Grays Inn Rd. Both areas, which are close in proximity to each other, were roped off and the scene was made secure.
While still on scene at Longcreek Dr, dispatch provided updated information of a person with a gunshot wound at the 200 block of Bentley Court. When deputies arrived on scene to Bentley Court, they discovered a victim with gunshot wounds to the upper body. EMS responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. A second victim was located at a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
