KERSHAW COUNTY SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

Howard was arrested by the Rock Hill Police Department for a shoplifting incident. The arrest involved another chase that involving a K9 apprehension. After being treated for his wounds, he was taken to their jail. KCSO is one of multiple agencies with detainers on Howard awaiting our turn to serve warrants.

Leon Carl Howard, III is currently wanted by your KCSO for the 6/19/25 incident involving the collision with a KCSO deputy during a vehicle pursuit on Ward Road in Lugoff. Howard is also wanted on seven additional, unrelated warrants to include 5 burglaries, 1 grand larceny, and 1 receiving stolen goods.

Howard is out on bond from another failure to stop for blue lights incident from 3/26/25 that ended in another collision. The attached booking photo was from that previous arrest.

The deputy involved was transported by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation. He was released last night and is doing as well as can be expected after the collision.
