MYRTLE BEACH INCIDENT REPORT

On July 3rd, 2025, at approximately 9:04 pm Myrtle Beach Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota 4 Runner at 1200 North Ocean Boulevard. The driver failed to comply with officers and fled from the stop. A second traffic stop was attempted a block north of the original location. Initially, the driver stopped, but as officers approached the vehicle, the driver accelerated, striking a bicycle officer. Officers pursued the vehicle, which struck a law enforcement vehicle upon fleeing, and during the pursuit, spike strips were successfully deployed. The pursuit ended when the suspect vehicle stopped at 16th Avenue North and Withers Drive. The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody. The officer who was struck was taken to the hospital and released with minor injuries.
