The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help locating a man who ran from deputies this afternoon.
Byron Pringle (DOB: 9/21/1975) was arrested this morning on multiple drug-related charges. Immediately after his arrest, Pringle was transported to the hospital when deputies began to suspect that he had ingested drugs.
Late this afternoon, deputies were notified by staff at Lexington Medical Center on Sunset Blvd that Pringle was being released.
When the deputy arrived to transport him to jail, he took off running. The deputy attempted to pursue him but was injured in the process.
Pringle was unable to be located after an extensive search.
Anyone who may have seen Pringle or has any information on his location is asked to submit a tip to Crime Stoppers at crimesc.com. They may remain anonymous.
The injured deputy is expected to recover.
