SLED CHARGES THREE FORMER EMPLOYEES FROM THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF DISABILITIES AND SPECIAL NEEDS FOR ABUSE OF A VULNERABLE ADULT

On Thursday, agents from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Lameia Shaunta Bennett, 32, Freddie Lee Cunningham III., 22, and Nyosha Renee Young, 26, with Abuse of a Vulnerable Adult. Details from the investigation are in the warrants attached.

SLED was requested to investigate by the Coastal Regional Center (CRC) in Summerville, S.C.  The CRC is a state-operated facility for the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs.

Bennett, Cunningham, and Young were booked at the Dorchester County Detention Center.

The case will be prosecuted by the 1st Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
