On May 10, 2022, your KCSO arrested Cody Rik Horace Threatt (31) of Camden, SC, on 19 charges connected to the sexual exploitation of a minor and criminal sexual conduct towards a child. Investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), while working on an ongoing investigation, which led them to Threatt. Investigators state that Threatt possessed and distributed multiple files of child sexual abuse material. Agents with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Secret Service assisted with this investigation.Threatt is charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor 2nd degree (punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment on each count), 8 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor 3rd degree (punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment on each count), and 1 count of criminal sexual conduct with a minor 3rd degree (punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment). There is a potential for more charges to be presented at a later date.
He is currently at the Kershaw County Detention Center awaiting a Bond Hearing.
