Myrtle Beach Police Department has three people in custody following the shooting. Sunday morning, April 24th in a parking lot near Joe White Avenue and Withers Alley.

Tai’yuan Ja’rel Jackson, 20, of Effingham, SC has been charged with Murder, three counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, unlawful carry of a handgun, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Li’quan Tyrese Hickson, 22, of Effingham, SC has been charged with accessory after the fact. A juvenile has also been charged in connection with the shooting.
The initial responding officers were less than 100 yards away and were on the scene within 30 seconds. Investigators were able to quickly identify the people involved in the shooting and had them in custody within 24 hours.
“I want to commend our officers and team for their quick turnaround of this case and getting these individuals identified and in custody so fast,” Chief Prock said. “They came to Myrtle Beach with a problem that began in another jurisdiction and it ended here in tragedy. This department will hold those responsible accountable.”
Jackson and Hickson appeared before a judge this Monday for a bond.
Hickson was given a $35,000 surety bond and will be on house arrest with monitoring.
Jackson was not granted bond because only a circuit court judge can set bond for a murder charge.
