Attorney General Wilson & Sheriff Lott to encourage participation in Drug Take Back Day

(COLUMBIA, S.C.) – Attorney General Alan Wilson and Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott will hold a news conference Friday to encourage South Carolinians to participate in the 20th Drug Take Back Day.

The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) holds Take Back Days twice a year, in April and October, at locations across the country. Everyone is encouraged to bring expired, unused, or unwanted prescription drugs to drop-off locations for proper disposal. The news conference will take place at the Richland Co. Sheriff’s Department Annex at 2500 Decker Blvd. Last October, South Carolinians dropped off 11,757 pounds of prescription drugs at 71 Take Back sites across the state.
