Sheriff Leon Lott announces an arrest in the murder of a 19-year-old woman last month. A 15-year-old male has been charged with murder for the killing of Raeneshia Nixon. He turned himself in to investigators this afternoon. The teen’s name is being withheld due to his age. Deputies were called to the 200 block of Charleswood Drive on Feb. 4th at the request of the Columbia Fire Department in reference to a vehicle collision. They arrived to find that Nixon, the driver of the vehicle, had been shot in the upper body. She was taken to the hospital where she died. A 16-year-old who was in the car with her was previously charged with obstruction for lying to investigators. The 15-year-old will be taken to the juvenile wing of Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
