Within the last several months thousands of people have either chosen to receive the Covid-19 shot or have chosen not to. Discussions on social media platforms have been non-stop ranging from whether this shot has any real value or if it is merely a way for Government entities to control people. Whatever your opinion is everyone has attempted to do research on alternatives or natural cures for Covid-19.
Now enter a medicine that has been around since 1975 and became medically used in 1981, IVERMECTIN. Ivermectin is traditionally used as an anti-parasitic in animals. But can be used to treat certain conditions in humans as well. This medicine is orignigally considered for such issues as head lice, scabies, river blindness (onchocerciasis), strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, ascariasis, and lymphatic filariasis.
Ivermectin is surprisingly readily available at many pet stores and large retail stores at a fairly reasonable cost.
Prominent Actors and Public figures have put out endorsements for Ivermectin, including Louis Gossett Jr., who’s video can be seen at https://covid19criticalcare.com. Unfortunately, several Social Media Platforms have deleted or blocked these endorsements.
The one question that has been raised among certain professionals is “How is it that an Anti-Parasitic works so well against a Virus?“
Antiparasitics are a class of medications which are indicated for the treatment of parasitic diseases, such as those caused by helminths, amoeba,ectoparasites, parasitic fungi, and protozoa,among others. Antiparasitics target the parasitic agents of the infections by destroying them or inhibiting their growth; they are usually effective against a limited number of parasites within a particular class. Antiparasitics are one of the antimicrobial drugs which include antibiotics that target bacteria, and antifungals that target fungi. They may be administered orally, intravenously or topically.
Broad-Spectrum antiparasitics, analogous to broad-spectrum antibiotics for bacteria, are antiparasitic drugs with efficacy in treating a wide range of parasitic infections caused by parasites from different classes.
Antiviral drugs are one class of antimicrobials, a larger group which also includes antibiotic (also termed antibacterial), antifungal and antiparasitic drugs, or antiviral drugs based on monoclonal antibodies. Most antivirals are considered relatively harmless to the host, and therefore can be used to treat infections. They should be distinguished from viricides, which are not medication but deactivate or destroy virus particles, either inside or outside the body. Natural viricides are produced by some plants such as eucalyptus and Australian tea trees.
As most of us remember from High School Biology Viruses and Parasites act differently and require different medications to combat them. But it would seem that Ivermectin is one in a line of other medications that seems to contradict this theory. According to an article in The Hindu Buisness Line, Ivermectin destroys the Covid-19 Virus within 48 hours of treatment.
One aspect of Ivermectin as a treatment is that it has not been FDA approved as a treatment for Covid-19, and instead has been placed on a list neither endorsing it or hindering it to be used for Covid-19.
