Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announces the arrest of Ishman Hargrove (DOB: 1/29/92) on charges of failure to stop for blue lights and sirens, possession with intent to distribute meth, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
At approximately 11:15 a.m. today, Sept. 24, deputies received a citizen complaint about a man with a gun and drug activity in the 1300 block of Garner Lane. A deputy in the area located the man and the vehicle matching the description as he drove onto I-20 and attempted to pull him over.
The driver, now identified as Hargrove, did not stop and instead continued on I-20 east to Clemson Road where he exited. From there, Hargrove turned onto Percival Road and continued into Kershaw County.
He came to a stop at Doby’s Mill Elementary School where he got out of the car and ran. Deputies were able to catch up and arrest him without further incident. Deputies did recover a gun and drugs.
The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the arrest.
Hargrove will be taken to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center for booking.
