7/25/20

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announces the arrest of a murder suspect wanted in connection with the slaying of 55-year-old Dexter Craft.

Timothy T. Shells — DOB: 7/8/89 — was arrested without incident by the RCSD Fugitive Task Force around 11 p.m., Friday in Richland County. He was charged with murder.

On Thursday shortly before 2 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Woodcrest Drive to reports of an unresponsive man. When they arrived, they found Craft dead at the scene.

The investigation revealed Craft and Shells — who lived at the same home on Woodcrest Drive — got into an argument that turned physical and ended with Shells stabbing Craft.

Shells was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in the early hours of Saturday morning.
