


Sheriff August would like to release the following information:
Early this morning, the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the South Carolina Department of Corrections (SCDC) and the Hartsville Police Department (HPD), conducted a contraband search at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.
During the search, officers found a smartphone (x3), a charging cord (x2), and 1 homemade weapon.
Charges:
Inmate Terry Frazier was additionally charged with 3 counts of Possession of Contraband for two cellphones and a phone charger in his possession.
Inmate Christopher Hall was additionally charged with Carrying or Concealing a Weapon by an Inmate and Possession of Contraband for possessing 1 homemade weapon.
Inmate Lamont Simmons was additionally charged with 2 counts of Possession of Contraband for possessing a cellphone and a charger.
Sheriff August stands firm in his no-tolerance policy for contraband, holding all inmates and employees possessing or distributing contraband accountable. These types of searches will continue to limit the flow of contraband into the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.
