Murder on Aster Circle In Richland County

Sheriff Leon Lott announces the arrest of Paul Henry (DOB: 3/21/2008) in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred at the 200 block of Aster Circle on September 23, 2025.

On September 23, 2025, around 5:30 pm, deputies responded to the 200 block of Aster Circle in reference to a ShotSpotter alert. When deputies arrived in the area of the alert, bystanders advised deputies that someone had been shot. Deputies located a juvenile male victim with gunshot wounds. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Deputies quickly identified Henry as a suspect. Deputies set up a perimeter around the neighborhood and were able to locate Henry and take him into custody. Further investigation revealed that, while walking in the neighborhood, Henry opened fire on two juvenile victims, one of them being the deceased victim; the second victim did not sustain any gunshot wounds. This is believed to be an isolated incident. The events leading up to the shooting are still under investigation.

Henry is charged as an adult with Murder, Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime, and Possession of a Firearm Under 18. He was transported to Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and is awaiting a bond hearing.
