Sheriff Leon Lott announces the arrest of Eddie Chaney, 36, DOB: 07/23/1989.
Around 7:00 PM Saturday, September 6th, 2025, RCSD Deputies were dispatched to the 1900 block of Lake Carolina Drive in reference to a domestic violence with a weapon call. While en route, deputies were advised that the suspect had a knife and had attacked another person at the location.
Deputies arrived on scene and located the suspect, 36-year-old Eddie Chaney, in the front yard, and a victim inside the residence with multiple stab wounds to the upper and lower body. The victim was transported to a local hospital and treated for their injuries.
Further investigation provided that the suspect and victim resided together, and a verbal altercation had become physical.
Chaney had sustained minor injuries to his hand and was treated at a local hospital. Chaney was released from the hospital and charged with Attempted Murder and is detained at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. Chaney was denied bond.
