Jaylen McKenzie Koon, age 18, of 388 Cheyenne Road, Summerville, SC, was arrested by FCSO Investigators on September 3, 2025, and charged with Assault By Mob (3rd degree) (S.C. Code Ann. 16-3-210(D)). See the FCSO Booking Website for additional information.
COWARD, SC: On September 1, 2025, Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office were contacted by the family of the victim regarding an assault that occurred on Durango Road, Coward, SC, the morning of August 31, 2025, between the hours of 1:00 am and 3:00 am. A video of the assault was posted on social media. Following an investigation, Jaylen McKenzie Koon and three juveniles have been charged with Assault by Mob. According to Investigators, Koon and the juvenile co-defendants are alleged to have planned and carried out the attack, which resulted in minor injuries to the victim.
Koon is being held at the Florence County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing. The juvenile co-defendants have been transported to the S.C. Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia, SC.
