SHOOTING AT BEATTY ROAD AND KAY STREET IN COLUMBIA

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on August 16, 2025, around 6:30pm in the area of Beatty Road and Kay Street.



On August 16, around 6:30pm, deputies were flagged down by multiple individuals in reference to an individual that was just shot. Deputies located the adult victim in the area of Beatty Rd and Kay St; the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the lower body. Deputies immediately began rendering aid until EMS arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital. The suspect(s) fled prior to deputies’ arrival.
