Sheriff Leon Lott announces a shooting incident that occurred on Calvary Rd, and two deputies were injured in a collision due to gunshots near the scene.
On August 9, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., deputies responded to the 500 block of Calvary Road about a shooting. When deputies arrived on scene, they located two gunshot victims, one male and one female. The male had multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body, and the female had a gunshot wound to the lower body. EMS responded and transported both victims to a local hospital. Deputies discovered property damage from gunfire as well.
RCSD investigators and Crime Scene units responded to the scene. Deputies remained on scene while Crime Scene units processed the scene.
At approximately 5:50 p.m., as deputies were clearing the crime scene, they heard gunshots in the area. Deputies witnessed a vehicle speeding away from the area. As they attempted to turn around to pursue the vehicle, their patrol vehicle, with two deputies inside, was involved in a single vehicle collision off of Crane Church Road. Both deputies in the patrol vehicle were transported by EMS to a local hospital with injuries. SCHP responded to investigate the crash.
No additional victims or property damage were located due to the second shots-fired call.
