On May 24, 2025, Deputies with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office responded McLeod Regional Medical Center to a call of a sexual assault. The victim alleged the assault occurred on or about May 24, 2025, near Stokes Road in Florence, SC, when the suspect held the victim at gunpoint during the assault.
Investigators have now charged Christopher Cornelius Hickson with first-degree Criminal Sexual Conduct, Pointing and Presenting a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime. Hickson was taken into custody on August 2, 2025.
Hickson is being held at the Florence County Detention Center without bond.
