Sheriff Leon Lott announces the arrest of Goodwin, Trinity (DOB: 10/11/07) in relation to a murder that occurred on the 2000 block of Faraway Dr. yesterday.
On July 29, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of Faraway Dr for an altercation involving a knife. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found an elderly woman who was suffering from stab wounds. EMS arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital. Deputies were notified a short time later that the victim succumbed from her injuries.
While on scene, deputies were notified by witnesses of the location of the suspect nearby. Deputies located the suspect, identified as Goodwin, and detained her. Investigators responded and took Goodwin in for questioning, where she confessed to the murder, acknowledging the victim was wheelchair bound and vulnerable.
Goodwin (17 yoa) was charged as an adult with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime. She was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, where she will remain until a bond hearing is scheduled.
