Arrest Made in Shooting After Parking Space Dispute

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department announces the arrest of Simon, Cedric (DOB: 12/27/90) in relation to a shooting that occurred yesterday.

On July 28, 2025, at approximately 9:45 a.m., deputies responded to the Circle K at the 7900 block of Parklane Rd. in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, deputies located a victim with an injury to the lower body and turned the victim over to EMS to be transported to a local hospital.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Simon became agitated over the victim’s choice of parking space. Simon started a verbal argument with the victim about his frustrations which led to Simon brandishing a firearm. As the argument continued, Simon shot in the direction of the victim causing the victim to sustain a wound to his leg. Simon left in a vehicle prior to deputies’ arrival.

Investigators obtained warrants for Simon’s arrest and began to attempt to locate him. The warrants were for Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime. Last night, RCSD was informed that Simon was located and arrested in Georgia. Simon is being held in detention in Georgia pending extradition back to South Carolina for his warrants.
