Sheriff Leon Lott is asking the community for help in locating a murder suspect.
On July 2, 2025, at around 4:00 a.m., deputies received a shots-fired call at 2624 Broad River Rd. When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds. EMS and CFD responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The heavy police presence, including the Special Response Team, in the Chadford Road area yesterday afternoon was part of an ongoing investigation into this homicide. Deputies were there to execute high-risk warrants in connection with this murder. The vehicle used in the murder was towed from the residence.
Desmond Coleman is still at large. Coleman is considered to be armed and dangerous.
