Sheriff Leon Lott announces the arrest of Anthony William Alexander (DOB: 3/23/57) following the investigation of a shooting that occurred on June 7, 2025, on Parkland Road.
On June 7, just before 8:00 pm, deputies responded to the 100 block of O’Neil Court in reference to a shooting that had just occurred. When deputies arrived on the scene, they spoke with witnesses who confirmed that there had been a shooting in the area of the 7200 block of Parklane Road. RCSD K9 units responded and tracked for a potential suspect but were unsuccessful; however, deputies were able to locate a crime scene with multiple bullet casings.
While deputies were processing the crime scene, the victim involved in the shooting arrived back at the scene to speak with deputies. The victim had sustained a grazing gunshot wound to the torso. The victim was cleared by EMS on scene and was not transported to the hospital.
Further investigation revealed that the victim was an innocent bystander walking through the area when Alexander targeted him for unknown reasons. RCSD investigators confirmed that there is no known relationship between Alexander and the victim. On the morning of June 20, Alexander was taken into custody by RCSD’s Special Response Team at his residence.
Alexander is charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime. He is booked at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
