The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Jerry Scott Payne, 52, with
Assault & Battery – 1st Degree and Unlawful to Disseminate Obscene Material to Person Under
18 Years of Age on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office
requested the SLED investigation.
