On March 26, 2025, shortly after 5:00 PM FCSO Deputies responded to a call of a shooting with a child victim which occurred on Willow Trace Drive in Florence, SC. According to Deputies, Kelvin Vashon Allen, who resides in the apartment directly above the victim’s apartment, is alleged to have allowed a handgun to discharge through the floor and into the apartment below. The bullet then struck a juvenile in the apartment below resulting in injuries. The juvenile was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment by private passenger vehicle. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Allen has been charged with Discharging a Firearm Into a Dwelling and is being held at the Florence County Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.
