SLED’s Warrant Affidavid stated the following:
Between April 1, 2024 and May 9, 2024, the Defendant, Matthew Dillon Yonn, did near
Kelly Street, in the City and County of McCormick, SC commit the crime of
Misconduct in Office.
The Defendant did willfully and unlawfully commit misconduct in
his public office, by acts and omissions of malfeasance, misfeasance, or nonfeasance in
breach of his duties to the public including his duty of good faith, honesty, and
accountability, to wit; the Defendant, while acting in his capacity as a law enforcement
officer for the Town of McCormick Police Department, did engage in sexual acts with a
woman in the vicinity of his Town of McCormick Police Department patrol vehicle at the
Piedmont Technical College-McCormick Campus, and these sexual acts occurred while
the Defendant was on duty and in uniform, in violation of the Common Law of South Carolina.
Witness statements, surveillance video, dash cam video from the Defendant’s
Town of McCormick patrol vehicle, and the Defendant’s own admissions to SLED
corroborate the Defendant’s Misconduct in Office.
