Sheriff Leon Lott announces the arrest of former deputy Michael Kennedy, 34, who was arrested for DUI yesterday, July 11th by West Columbia Police Department.
Kennedy was immediately suspended without pay and is no longer employed with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
Kennedy had been with the sheriff’s department since August 2023.
“We are all responsible for the decisions we make, said sheriff Lott and therefore the consequences that come from those decisions.” “My deputies know if they violate the law they will be held accountable.”
