The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fatal shooting of a 16-year-old male earlier this morning.
Deputies were dispatched to the 1800 block of Bywood Dr. shortly before noon today, Feb. 16, 2024, in reference to a shooting hit. Upon arrival, deputies located the juvenile unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his torso. Deputies began chest compressions in an effort to save the juvenile, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead on scene.
