Animal Control officers responded to an apartment complex in the area of the 2000 block of Greens Blvd for a report of Animal Cruelty on November 15, 2022. Officers found three dogs, an adult female “Pitbull” and two puppies, dead in a plastic tub inside a dumpster. The adult dog was a medium-sized black and brown female pit bull with cropped ears. The veterinary staff estimates she was between one and three years old. The two puppies were both black with white points. Veterinary staff estimates the two puppies were eight weeks old. The information uncovered so far based on an examination by staff at the Grand Strand Humane Society, leads officers to believe the adult female dog died of starvation and the two puppies drowned. The department asks anyone with information about the dogs or the owner to come forward and contact our Animal Control unit at animalcontrol@cityofmyrtlebeach.com or (843) 918-1331.
