A 15-year-old student has been arrested after a gun was discovered at Lower Richland High School.
This morning, May 23, it was discovered that a student carried a loaded handgun onto the school campus, then secured it in his vehicle when staff was alerted. Administrators searched the vehicle and found the weapon.
The student has been charged with carrying a firearm on school grounds, unlawful carry, and possession of a pistol under 18. He was arrested and booked into the juvenile wing at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
No threats were made to any students or staff.
