The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting at a Columbia apartment complex.
Deputies responded to the Park Apartments at 1601 Longcreek Drive just after midnight on March 29, 2022, in reference to shots being fired.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they discovered a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate a homicide that occurred yesterday, March 29 on Longcreek Dr. At this time, investigators have no reason to believe that this incident is connected in any way to the other incidents in the Broad River Rd area. This is believed to be an isolated incident and persons of interest have been identified in the case.
The investigation remains ongoing. More information will be provided when available.
