‘Operation Summer Blitz’ Arrests Over 100 Offenders

Operation Summer Blitz is a statewide, coordinated warrant sweep done by the Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Service.

The Department states that the operation was done between July 19 and July 23, which lead to multiple arrests. 124 wanted individuals were picked up throughout the State. Operation Summer Blitz is designed to locate and apprehend wanted sex offenders, domestic violence offenders, violent offenders, and individuals who have violated their conditions of parole.

Chad Gambrell, SCDPPPS deputy director for offender supervision and enforcement services stated, “There were 264 Agents along with officers from 31 various federal, state, county and local law enforcement agencies that worked in 37 counties throughout the state to arrest wanted offenders. We also had 97 warrants cleared.” The term cleared means that a warrant has been disposed due to an individuals death, incarceration, or relocation to another state.
