Attempted Murder Arrest on Broad River Road

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announces an arrest in the shooting of a security guard at a club on Broad River Road.

James Alterique White (DOB: 7/25/1998) is charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and unlawful carry of a pistol. He was arrested by the Midlands Gang Fugitive Task Force without incident on Monday, June 21.

On May 2, around 3:00 a.m., deputies were responding to a call at 2640 Broad River Road when they heard shots fired from Hookah on the River (2700 Broad River Rd). Deputies ran towards the scene as shots continued to be fired. There was a large crowd with frightened patrons running in all directions.

It was discovered that a security guard at the club was hit in the upper body by a bullet. He was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

White was booked in the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and a $175,000 Bond has been placed on him.
