The Richland County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting incident that sent a man to the hospital.
Deputies were called to a home the 400 block of Freshwater Drive on March 29 around 6:45 p.m. in reference to a shooting with one person hit. They arrived to find a man lying on the floor just inside the front door. The man was rushed to a local hospital for treatment where he remains.Investigators believe this an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community. This incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to submit a tip to Crime Stoppers at Midlands Crimestoppers.
According to neighbors, this shooting is related to another shooting a couple weeks ago in their neighborhood. They say this was a quiet, peaceful neighborhood, but it has become more dangerous. Neighbors also say they just stay inside with their doors locked and are worried this will bring down the value of their property.
