Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott announces the arrest of two men from a shooting that led to multiple injuries and a death at 7810 Two Notch Rd, the business of Capital City Cycles. The shooting occurred around 4 pm March 11. Deputies responded to multiple reports of shots fired and found 5 people who were shot. One man was deceased at the scene and 4 other men were transported to local hospitals.
Kristopher Wheat (DOB: 07/18/1984) was charged with Obstruction of Justice in the case and arrested upon release from the hospital. James Hill (DOB: 12/24/1962) was charged with Assault by Mob in the First Degree. It is believed that an argument between individuals escalated and led to a shoot-out at the business. The investigation remains on-going and more charges may follow. Two men remain in the hospital. Wheat and Hill were arrested late Thursday, March 11. They were booked into Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
