MULTI-JURISDICTION CHASE OVER 35 MILES ENDS WITH ARREST, NO INJURIES

County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a stolen vehicle alert from a Flock camera on East Dekalb Street in Camden at approximately 1:15pm today. The suspect driving the box truck refused to stop and led your KCSO deputies on a pursuit north on Hwy 1 toward Cassatt/Bethune. Kershaw County Deputies were able to puncture two tires and slow the pursuit to 40-45 mph with the use of stop sticks. The suspect made several attempts to ram deputies. The suspect refused to stop and continued on Hwy 1 into Chesterfield County. Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office entered the pursuit at the county line. The suspect eventually came to a stop and fled on foot at Sand Hills State Park where the SC Forestry Commission and SC Department of Natural Resource (DNR) assisted Kershaw County Deputies (with KCSO K9 Skai) and CCSO with a foot pursuit that ended within one mile of the vehicle stop.Aaron Michael Wolferst (27) of Indiana was arrested and will be charged with possession of stolen vehicle, failure to stop for blue lights, resisting arrest, and other charges related to attempting to ram deputies. Wolferst is also wanted out of Indiana for escape, sell of cocaine, and stolen property offense.
